Can the bilingual keyboard performance in iOS 18 be fully disabled?

I simply upgraded to iOS 18 on my telephone, which introduced with it the very unwelcome change that almost all of my keyboard layouts at the moment are ‘bilingual’. I don’t ever need any of my keyboard layouts to be bilingual, since it’s completely horrible at figuring out what language you write when – like me – you usually write issues in a number of languages. Autocorrect has turn into virtually solely unusable with this modification.

I’ve greater than 20 keyboard layouts (sure, I realise that is uncommon, however I actually do sort in most of them frequently), and about 15 of them at the moment are ‘bilingual’. Sadly, whereas I can simply delete the non-English language from a bilingual keyboard, it appears you can’t take away English to make it a single-language non-English keyboard format. As a substitute, I’ve to now take away 15 layouts, re-add them separately, actively select the single-language possibility (since bilingual is now the default), then reorder them the way in which I would like them. And bear in mind to decide on the single-language possibility each time I wish to add a brand new format.

This to me is totally atrocious UI, so I’ve been looking for some setting or technique to fully disable the bilingual characteristic in order that all keyboards (current and future) are compelled to single-language mode… however thus far no cube.

Is it doable to disable the bilingual keyboard performance system-wide in iOS 18?
