In 2022, the Dubai Electrical energy and Water Authority (DEWA) partnered with Kongsberg NanoAvionics to develop and launch two superior nanosatellites-one 3U and one 6U. These satellites are outfitted with cutting-edge distant sensing and Web of Issues (IoT) applied sciences that can present real-time knowledge from DEWA’s infrastructure, permitting for extra environment friendly monitoring and administration of its electrical energy and water networks.
This initiative is a part of DEWA’s bigger House-D programme, a strategic effort geared toward reworking the planning, technology, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy and water by area expertise. By incorporating nanosatellite expertise into its operations, DEWA is taking a big step towards modernizing utility administration and lowering service disruptions.
The House-D programme performs a vital position in DEWA’s digitalization journey. By using IoT and distant sensing, DEWA enhances its capability to watch property and handle community operations extra effectively. Actual-time knowledge assortment from the satellites will enhance asset utilization, optimize useful resource allocation, and in the end improve the general effectivity of DEWA’s grid programs.
In collaboration with NanoAvionics, DEWA goals to chop operational prices, help sustainability initiatives, and improve the reliability of electrical energy and water providers. By integrating these superior applied sciences, DEWA is setting new requirements in utility administration and reinforcing its standing as a world chief in innovation and sustainability.
